About the Position

Gifts Advisor – Full Time

The Gifts Advisor (GA), will focus on maintaining accurate, timely, and positive interactions with donors. GA will cultivate these relationships as directed, to positively and significantly impact overall advancement revenue. The GA will ensure that no donors fall through any cracks and that quick, timely, and accurate communication takes place. The GA will strive to establish and strengthen sustainable relationships with donors that result in recurring gifts for the operational and campaign funding of Mel Trotter Ministries. The GA will identify, solicit, cultivate, and steward new donors while working within a plan that consists of objectives, goals, methods and a reasonable timeline. The GA will keep accurate, up to date records of all donor relations in the donor CRM and provide reports and analytic data as requested. The GA will keep the Advancement team informed of any relevant news, information, or strategy that may impact other areas of Advancement or Events. GA will additionally assist with all miscellaneous tasks and projects assigned or authorized by Chief Advancement Officer and/or Mel Trotter Ministries Executive Management.

We will trust you with: (Job Responsibilities)

* Maintain solid communication with donors.

* Develop and cultivate relationships with assigned donors.

* Cultivate new donor contacts for donor solicitation.

* Complete proposals and key donor correspondence as needed.

* Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure donor awareness and participation in events.

* Coordinate with Advancement team as it applies to relationship donor development and management.

* Research and identify sources of support, proactively seek opportunities to generate new donor proposals based on interests and alignment with Mel Trotter. Ministries.

* Maintain the integrity of the donor database with current and accurate information.

* Generate creative ideas to help sustain fundraising efforts.

* Provide donor history and records to Advancement, Executive Staff and Board.

* Identify funding opportunities and support the proposal submission process by working collaboratively with the Grant Writer as needed.

* Meet and/or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics and goals set by CAO

* Work with CAO to set attainable and realistic metric goals.

* Work to increase awareness of Mel Trotter Mission’s full scope of services.

* Additional duties as assigned.

 

Bring your strengths: (Job Requirements)

* Bachelor’s Degree, skilled knowledge of charitable giving through estate planning

* Five years’ proven track record initiating and cultivating donor relationships, resulting in exceptional fundraising results

* Highly connected in local donor circles and non-profit organizations, including consistent personal history of giving

* Excellent interpersonal skills, and professional verbal and written communication

* Productive independent worker and positive team participant with excellent relationship building skills

* Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail and timeliness

* Proficient with Microsoft Office and donor database use (including, but not limited to Virtuous, Donor Search)

* Ability to gather, analyze and utilize donor, numerical, and financial data

Working Conditions:

* Regular standing, walking, climbing, crouching, bending, pushing, or pulling

* Understand, speak, read, and write fluent English

* Ability to communicate verbally and to accurately hear, with hearing correction

* Ability to see 20/20, with vision correction

* Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 35 pounds regularly

* Able to use fine motor hand functions

* Frequently exposed to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 80 degrees
